Article 151 of the Constitution of India requires the Comptroller and Auditor General of India to submit a report relating to the accounts of the State to the Governor of the State, who shall cause them to be laid before the Legislature of the State.

On behalf of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, the Accountant General Nagaland prepares the Report relating to the accounts of the State of Nagaland every year.  The Report Group of this office is responsible for preparation of this report.  This group is under the direct control of Accountant General  and consists of two sections -

Efficiency cum Performance Audit Section (ECPA), and
Report Section
1. ECPA:  It covers the following:
(i)
Selection of Schemes for review and programming.
(ii)
Formulating guidelines to be followed for collecting review data, field studies, basic data collection and analysis.
(iii)
Conducting Schematic Reviews and appraisals on topics selected locally as well as at All India level by deployment of field parties.
2. Report:
Report section processes Draft Paragraphs and is responsible for all works connected with bringing out of the Audit Report. It also renders assistance to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on behalf of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India during discussion of the Reports
